Apple buys WiFiSlam for $20 million an indoor mapping start-up

Apple,the Cupertino tech company, in a move that might improve the quality of the Apple Maps, has purchased the WiFiSlam, which is a Silicon Valley company that specializes in indoor mapping.
Apple purchased WiFiSlam for $20 million saying it buys the tiny technology companies from time to time as reported bt the Wall Street Journal. Apple, however, so far has not disclosed its future plans for the acquired company.

WiFiSlam the 2 year old company has developed the technology which makes it possible for different phones to detect the users location even if he is inside building by using Wi-Fi signals. The company has also tried earlier to sell its WiFi technology to other developers interested in indoor mapping software.
Applemight be planning to use the technology acquired fromr WiFiSlam into Apple Maps,
Apple Maps after its launch in last September, suffered a major backlash by users who were primarily upset with the maps.
Google which is Apple’s biggest rival in mapping world is already using technology that shows the users many indoor maps of some retailers and major places like airports in the U.S.
