Apple told Bloomberg that the company pays every euro in every tax that it owe. Apple also blamed Irish officials for selective treatment.Apple further informed that the company is subjected to the same laws related to tax as other international companies which are doing trades in Ireland.
Apple along with Italian automaker and an American coffee chain is facing investigation in violating tax laws by the European Commission. Under the policy, tax agreements which selectively benefit certain companies are totally incompatible with the “EU Single Market”, therefore it should not be allowed.
Apple current stand is similar to the remarks made by Tim Cook, Apple chief in advance of hearing before U.S. Senate last year. The hearing was called in order to investigate that how some major U.S.-based corporations avoid taxes by keeping profits earned overseas offshore.
