Ryder had to participate in the sixth edition of IPL as he was a player of Delhi Daredevils. He had to go to India on Friday. Delhi Daredevils’ director TA Sekar was shocked at the incident who was looking forward to the arrival of his player from New Zealand. He said that the team would be looking for a new replacement.

Ryder had taken sabbatical from international cricket last year and was omitted from New Zealand’s ODI team after breaking team rules regarding drinking and alcohol in the past.
