Prior to releasing a teaser of its latest circular model of the G Watch, the South Korean consumer electronics firm LG has now officially unveiled this smartwatch. The company has announced to wrap the cover off from the G Watch R in the upcoming IFA event in Spain. LG claims it to be the inaugural watch-style wearable device to be equipped with a contour Plastic OLED (P-OLED) screen and 100 percent usage of its watch face.
The G Watch R comes with a 1.3-inch full circle P-OLED screen panel. It runs on a robust 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 chipset with the addition of 512MB RAM and support from a 410mAh battery as well. It contains a built-in memory of 4GB. It operates on the Android Wear, Google’s latest OS specifically developed for wearable devices. This smartwatch is expected to lock horns with the much-talked Moto 360, which will also be showcased at IFA.
The G watch R comes with a number of latest features such as water and dust-resistance. Meanwhile, LG claims that it can withstand in one meter of water for nearly half an hour as it is certifies with an Ingress Protection Rating of IP67.
The exquisite round device is encapsulated in a rigorous, long-lasting stainless steel frame and carries a suite of watch faces that can be approached with a simple display touch. It also possesses an interchangeable 22mm calf skin leather strap.
As per the speculations, the LG G Watch R will arrive in the markets by the fourth quarter of this ongoing year. Prices and details of availability will be furnished as soon as this variant arrives at the international wearables arena.
