Microsoft slashes price of Surface Pro by $100

Microsoft has now decided to slash is yet another $100 off of its Surface Pro cost as the software giant starts shipping the updated Surface Pro 2 model. The recent price reduction follows a $100 drop in August that was made permanent with Touch Cover and Surface RT cut off. The new price tag for this model is now just $699, compared to the $899 at the start of its release. Microsoft has only lowered its unit prices in the US and Canada, other international destinations has still got the same price tags for this model.

The offer is valid till December 31st. Microsoft is focusing to ship the original Surface Pro after stocks run out. Microsoft’s main Surface site no more displays the Surface Pro in its product pages. The Microsoft Store also covers the Surface Pro away, unveiling the original Surface, Surface 2, and Surface Pro 2 to the showcase.

On the other hand, Finnish handset maker Nokia has unleashed a new line-up of devices, including the firm’s inaugural tablet named as Lumia 2520, at an event held in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The latest devices are the first to be declared since Microsoft acquired the Finnish firm a month ago, and are keen to give a tough time to upcoming tablets to be unveiled by Apple later today.

The new high-end phablet, called Nokia’s Lumia 1520, comes with has a 6-inch display and a 20MP PureView camera. While the Nokia 2520 is equipped with a 10.1-inch screen class and operates on Windows RT.

The Lumia 2520 has a price tag of $499 (£309) and comes in multiple colors such as red, blue, white and black. Its screen has a super pixel density of 218.

Nokia 1520 is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, a RAM of 2GB and a powerful 800mAH battery.

Whereas Nokia 2520 has got a robust 3400mAH battery, which Nokia says to have a 25-hour talk time battery life and a full HD 1080p display screen having a pixel density of 368.
