Wateen Telecom has releaved Naeem Zamindar from his responsibilities at the company today, sources have confirmed. Naeem Zamindar was today told that he has been removed from the post of CEO Wateen Telecom and as member of Wateen board.
However, the official statement from Wateen Telecom confirmed that Naeem Zamindar after completing 3 and a half years at Wateen telecom has finally resigned from his position. It is expected that the leading telecom company of Pakistan will be restructuring and reorganization now.
Naeem Zamindar, joined as CEO Wateen Telecom in December 2010. His contract expired in December 2013 and was working on extension. The source reported that Dhabi Group, which owns Wateen Telecom wasn’t happy with Mr. Naeem Zamindar, current performance for not delivering the expected targets that he had committed.
Under Naeem Zamindar, as CEO Wateen Telecom the company suffered huge losses of Rs. 18 billion last year, which is highest in company’s history.Dhabi Group also alleged Naeem Zamindar for his association with NGO named Art of Living.
Wateen, Telecom still has large potential and is the backbone of country’s largest Fiber Optic network, and top ICT company of Pakistan.
Dhabi Group has yet not announce any replacement of Naeem Zamindar as CEO of the company.
