Recently, Microsoft organized a launch event of Private cloud immersion in Karachi. On the day, Etechcrunch got a chance to interact with Amir Rao, country manager of Microsoft Pakistan and Zafar-ul-Islam, lead technology strategist of Microsoft Pakistan.
Amir Rao is performing as country manager since January 2013 and under this capacity, Amir is responsible for planning and portfolio management which involves overseeing development of strategies to achieve marketing targets in the region.
So here we are going to share their thoughts about Microsoft Private Cloud Immersion.
Elaborating about Microsoft private cloud, Amir Rao told us that recently there has been an evident technology shift in every aspect of life. So, to cope up with market trends, Private cloud is one of our global initiatives that have now been introduced in Pakistan.
Fundamentally, Private could immersion is a new evolution of data centers in the industry to empower our customers in Pakistan thus they can get access to same set of tools and technology like people are experiencing across the world. This service will facilitate customers to set their vision for organization by ensuring a path to best allocate their resources competently in a short time.
While describing about this initiative, Mr. Zafar-ul-Islam told that organization faces several challenges from the time they envision a business initiative till its implementation which entails set of efforts, investment and its resource planning. Thus at this point of time, Private cloud would serve as shared pool of resources enabling organizations to plan and execute their plans in faster and lucrative way and get competitive advantage over organizations who are using traditional systems.
Moreover, he mentioned that we do have competitive advantage but today’s launch event aim is to educate enterprises about private cloud. As compare to other vendors who are providing cloud services, Microsoft cloud service is 5-6% cost effective and slashes 80-85% extra cost laying substantial effect on business infrastructure. Once an organization opt-to cloud solution, they will definitely transform their data centers and IT infrastructure of whole business in much more cost effective way.
On the question about its pricing, he stated that, obviously it requires certain products but one of the edges it has that Private cloud is built on Microsoft windows servers. A lot of customers, who are using Microsoft Windows Servers, can build up on few layers and access to a platform readily available for them and afterwards they can expand it with just minimum investments.
Further, Mr. Amir Rao told that Microsoft offers cloud services on customer’s term either they are concerned towards their privacy or want to remain open. Like the organizations of banking, defense sector or let say of any governmental initiative like upcoming elections, they would indeed prefer private cloud for data privacy and some of organizations that have their own data centers are likely to have hybrid cloud.
All organization either large or small would benefit from this service specially solution providers, who are being partnered with Microsoft and basically providing solutions. Therefore once they are trained then they will be able to provide same resources to public, private or commercial sector.
Concluding about this service, he stated that Pakistan has potential to do betterment in every field, so we wish whoever comes in the power in our country could exploit Information Technology and global trends which will move our organizations towards environment where all users can benefit by these cloud services.
