Telenor launches its own Telenor’s app store


Telenor Pakistan is fore runner in deployment of 3G networks in Pakistan. Taking advantage of 3G it has launched its own app and game store for customers that are around 35 million in Pakistan.


Smartphone users are expected to grow rapidly in near future in Pakistan mainly due to arrival of 3G services. With 3G customers will have more flexibility to connect with internet at high speed, thus Telenor timely acting launched its local app store.

Telenor’s app-store will also offer to purchase apps utilizing prepaid or postpaid account credit.
Telenor has hired Fortumo, a mobile payment company, to help them in deployment of direct carrier billing on its network.

There are very less number of users having credit cards in Pakistan, therefore direct operator billing using smartphone will offer a flexible solution to users to buy apps.

With over 130 million mobile phone users in Pakistan , only 1.5 million people have credit cards.
Telenor’s app store is almost same as Google’s Play Store. Customers will be able to browse games,apps, utilities to download on a single click.

Local developers will have a great opportunity to develop apps and upload on Telenor app store.
