Telenor Pakistan 3G coverage will reach to 45 cities by 30 November


In its latest announcement, Telenor Pakistan has claimed that it will be integrating its 3G coverage to at least 45 cities as soon as October 2014 ends, with thanks to some 1.3 Million 3G users on its bandwagon already.

The company kicked off its fifth phase of commercial roll out as Telenor’s 3G services are started in following cities:

• Lodhran,
• Khanewal,
• Malakand,
• Rahim Yar Khan,
• Murree and Nathia Gali

The leading cellular operator also mentioned that consumers of Lower Dir, Mansehra, Sukkur, Larkana, Ghotki and Bhakkar will be offered with 3G services by the end of October.

Telenor has also announced free 3G services will for Telenor Pakistan’s subscribers in these aforesaid destinations for upcoming two weeks. The users will be sent alerts regarding the end of free 3G trial facility through SMS and also on Telenor Pakistan’s official webpage.

With the announcement of 3G trial offer free of cost, users can enjoy 50 MBs of free bundle every day whereas data services on 2G will be charged as per normal rates.

Irfan Wahab Khan, CMO, Telenor Pakistan on the event expressed that Telenor Pakistan is undoubtedly the largest and by far the fastest growing 3G operator in the country with nearly 1.3 million users actively using 3G services in urban, semi urban and rural areas all over Pakistan.

As far as the company’s roll-out expansion strategy was considered, Mr. Wahab highlighted that Telenor has a twofold policy to deploy 3G sites aggressively nationwide: one is to integrate the figure of 3G sites within a city thus expanding the in-city footprints and the second strategy is to hike the number of 3G cities all over Pakistan.
