Telenor Pakistan extends 3G network to 32 cities

Telenor Pakistan, second largest cellular operator by user-base, has managed to grab almost 7500 cell sites on its massive network in Pakistan. Out of this bulk of sites, Telenor has enabled 1500 sites with the provision of 3G technology for its users.

Telenor officials apparently celebrated the milestone with a cake piercing party as seen in the tweet. Cake, which highlights the number of cell sites that are 3G supported so far along with the destinations where Telenor claims to have its 3G network coverage.

Micheal Foley, Telenor Pakistan CEO, laid stress on further aggressive 3G deployment plans in the coming times. Telenor, with prime concentration on rural territories, is imminent to face tough resistance from other rivals in the market namely Ufone, Zong and Mobilink in major hubs.

It should be kept in mind that customers shouldn’t expect full fledge 3G footprint in the cities where Telenor speculates to have 3G its network.

As present, Telenor has predicted to have 3G footprints at the given destinations all over the country:
