Telenor Pakistan has reported revenues of 22.78 billion Pak rupees (NOK 1,421 million) in the fourth quarter of 2012.The revenues of last quarter are up from 20.20 billion Pak rupees (NOK 1,343 million) from fourth quarter of 2011.The net revenue growth remained 17 percent, attributed to increased number of Telenor subscribers and the benefits of ICH.
The net EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) margin increased by 2% points mainly attributed to revenue growth and overall good contribution from financial services in addition to increased on-net traffic. EBITDA in Pak rupees increased by 21 percent.
Financial services contributed to 3% points of the net growth at Telenor Pakistan,Telenor said in a statement. Telenor also disclosed that revenues in forth quarter 2012 were little offset by the decline in ARPU, interior ministry forced network suspensions and closure of many retailer sales channel in the last month of fourth quarter.
Telenor Pakistan posted annual revenue of 90.61 billion Rupees (NOK 5.65 billion) in year 2012, that has improved from 77.30 billion (NOK 5.01 billion) in year 2011.
Average revenue per user (ARPU) in Pak currency decreased by 5 percent due to multiple government enforced network closures and drop in incoming international traffic.
Operating profit of Telenor Pakistan was negatively affected by 5.11 billion Pak Rupees (NOK 319 million) in accelerated depreciation related to the network modernization.
Telenor saw a subscriptions increased of 0.4 million during the Q4 quarter. The subscription base at end of quarter was 9 percent higher as compared to Q4 of 2011.
