World Bank representatives called on the IT minister Ms. Anusha Rahman today at the IT ministry. The delegation was headed by Country Director WB Mr. Rachid Benmessaoud, discussed joint cooperation and collaboration to enhance the Telecom sector in Pakistan.
Ms. Anusha Rehman gave a brief insight to the World Bank director about the key role government is playing for the optimization and improvement of Information Technology sector in the country.
She highlighted the continuous development made by the local IT sector despite a wave of economic inflation all across the globe. She said that government is keen and committed to offer the best possible assistance to the IT sector by keeping in touch with the concerned stakeholders.
The IT minister added that her ministry was optimistic about the international progress and capabilities of the local IT industry and she is leaving no stone unturned to provide them with the best package of incentives.
Ms. Anusha Rehman also laid stress on the requirement of building Technology Parks of international repute and standards in order to promote upcoming technologies and revolution in local markets in Pakistan. She mentioned that the technical help and cooperation from the World Bank in order to design and build Technology Parks across different substantial areas all over the country will be highly appreciated and commended by the local government.
Mr. Rachid Benmessaoud applauded the incentives and steps taken by the IT ministry for the betterment of IT and Telecom industry in Pakistan and specially appreciated the efforts and leadership of Ms. Anusha Rehman and termed it as the driving force behind all the present infrastructure and success of the local telecom sector.
He also assured the IT minister of every possible help and assistance in order to establish international standard Technology Parks in the country.
