Zong and RTA launched public transport service Tabeer for women


Zong and Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has started a public transport service Tabeer for women of the twin cities.The service titled ‘Tabeer’ is a pilot project of RTA and Zong in association with Al-Abrar Associates which aims to provide safe, economical, secure and comfortable transport service for women.


Awais Manzoor Tarar, RTA Secretary informed that  twelve 16-seater hi-ace vans under the Tabeer project will provide transportation to women on routes 1 and 7 between 7am to 7pm and there will only be a five minutes break and that too at starting and ending points.

The branded vans are also equipped with mobile service. The interesting part is that the drivers of vans will be male but conductors would be ladies to guide the passengers.


A dedicated terminal for Tabeer service has been set up at RTA office.

Route No 1 for T Tabeer transport service is:

Haider Road Saddar, Railway Station, Mareer Chowk, Moti Mahal, Committee Chowk, Waris Khan, Naz Cinema, Central Hospital, Sadiqabad, Rehmanabad, Shamsabad, Faizabad, Zero Point, Fire Brigade, Aabpara, Melody, GPO, Polyclinic Hospital, F6/1, Super Market and Pak Secretariat.

Route No 7 is:

Haji Camp, Golra Morr, Kohinoor Mills, Pir Wadhai Morr, Chur Depot, Chairing Cross, Radio Pakistan, Race Course Ground, MH Chowk, Railway Station, Kamran Market, Mareer Chowk, Distinct Courts, Morgah Morr, Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital, SOS Village and Sowan Camp.
