National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Pakistan for timely resolution of CNIC related inquiries has launched 2 hotlines for citizens. The citizens can complaint on these lines to NADRA authorities and the initiative had been taken on directives of new efficient Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan.
NADRA hotlines 7000 and 051-111-786-100 will help citizens to register complaints and know the current status of their CNIC. Users of Mobilink, Telenor and Zong can use Voice over IP service for 7000 while talks are underway with Warid and Ufone to enable this facility. The UAN 051-111-786-100 is PTCL hotline that will provide best one window customer care and management solution to bridge the gap between NADRA and citizens.
NADRA has established 4 contact centers in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Swat to help continuous monitoring of functions of NADRA in respect of addressing public grievances and complaints.
NADRA hotline 7000 for mobile phone users can be availed through SMS also to verify CNIC of any person. Communication over 7000 will be done in real time with the NADRA’s National Data Warehouse, utilizing NADRA’s and mobile phone operators strong network infrastructure. After sending CNIC number to 7000, concerned mobile number will receive SMS from NADRA with details associated with CNIC such as name of person to whom CNIC is allotted along with father’s name in Urdu and husband’s name in case of a married women.
Charges of Rs. 5 plus tax are applicable on sending SMS to 7000 where as calling charges of Rs. 5 are deducted from for 10 minutes of call.
NADRA successfully used SMS service during last general election in Pakistan for verification of voter information.
